Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dak Bar Whole Foods, Inc. ("Dak Bar," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit dakbar.com, buy from us, open a wholesale account, or otherwise contact us (together, our "Services").
We sell to customers in the United States, and this policy is written for U.S. residents. If you have questions, contact us using the details in Section 15.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and account details: name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, and account login.
- Order details: products bought, order history, subscriptions, and communications about your orders.
- Payment information: card details are entered into and processed by our payment processor (Shopify Payments). We do not store full card numbers.
- Wholesale application details: business name, business address, contact names, resale or tax-exemption certificates, and similar information (see Section 8).
- Messages and feedback: what you send through our contact forms, email, phone, surveys, or product reviews.
Information collected automatically
When you use our website, we and our service providers collect device and usage information. That includes IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and how you interact with our emails. Section 2 explains how.
Information from others
We may receive information from our service providers (for example, shipping updates), from retailers and distributors we work with, and from social media platforms when you interact with our pages.
Sensitive information
We don't ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as health, biometric or precise location data. Please don't send it to us.
2. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site to work, such as keeping items in your cart and processing checkout. Others help us understand how the site is used and, where you allow it, show you relevant ads.
We use Shopify analytics and Google Analytics to measure site traffic. We use advertising tools such as the Meta pixel to measure our ads and show ads to people who have visited our site.
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the website footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, parts of the site, such as checkout, may not work.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Process, ship and support your orders, subscriptions and returns
- Set up and manage wholesale accounts, invoices and payment terms
- Answer your questions and requests
- Send order updates and, if you sign up, marketing emails or texts
- Show reviews and run our website
- Understand how our site and products are used, and improve them
- Measure and improve our advertising
- Prevent fraud and keep our Services secure
- Keep business, tax and accounting records, and meet legal obligations
If we want to use your information for a purpose that isn't described here, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only as described here.

Legal and business reasons. We may disclose information to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale of assets, financing or similar transaction.
5. "Selling" and "sharing" for advertising, and how to opt out
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
Some state privacy laws treat advertising cookies and pixels as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, because they send identifiers and browsing data to ad platforms. To the extent our site uses these tools, you can opt out by:
- Declining advertising cookies in our cookie banner, or using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the website footer
- Turning on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. We treat a GPC signal as an opt-out for that browser or device.
- Contacting us as described in Section 11
Opting out doesn't affect your orders or your account. You may still see Dak Bar ads, but they won't be based on your activity on our site.
6. Marketing emails and texts
Email. We send marketing emails only if you sign up or opt in at checkout. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed. We'll still send messages about your orders and account.
Discounts for signing up. We sometimes offer a discount when you join our email or text list. In exchange, you give us your contact details and permission to send you marketing. We offer the discount because subscribers are more likely to buy again; its value roughly reflects what we expect that relationship to be worth to us. You can unsubscribe at any time.
7. Reviews
If you post a product review, your review, first name or display name, and any photos you add are public on our website. We collect reviews through Judge.me, which may email you after a purchase to ask for one. Don't include personal information in a review that you don't want others to see. To have a review removed, contact us.
8. Wholesale and business accounts
When a store, café, resort or other business applies for or holds a wholesale account, we collect business details and the contact information of the people who order for it. We use this to review the application, set up the account and payment terms, process orders and invoices, and keep tax records such as resale certificates.
If your business is listed as a retailer, its name, address, phone and website may appear in the store locator on our website. Contact us if you'd rather not be listed.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
|
Information |
How long |
|---|---|
|
Orders, invoices and tax records (including resale certificates) |
Up to 7 years, for tax and accounting |
|
Customer and wholesale accounts |
While the account is active, then as needed for records |
|
Marketing lists |
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information |
|
Website and analytics data |
As set by our analytics providers, typically 14 to 26 months |
We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute. We may also keep data that has been combined or de-identified so it no longer identifies you.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your personal information, and get a copy of it
- Correct information that's inaccurate
- Delete your information
- Get your information in a portable format
- Opt out of targeted advertising and any "sale" or "sharing" of your information
- Appeal if we deny your request
We'll honor these requests from any U.S. customer, whether or not a state law requires it, unless an exception applies (for example, we must keep certain order and tax records). We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
11. How to make a request
Email info@dakbar.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line, or write to us at the address in Section 15. Tell us what you're asking for and the email address you use with us.
To protect your information, we'll confirm your identity before we share or delete it, usually by matching your email and order details. We don't need to verify opt-out requests. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they're allowed to act for you.
We'll respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We'll answer within the time the law allows. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
12. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. We don't knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, and we rely on established providers such as Shopify for checkout and payment processing. No website or system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date. If we make a significant change, we'll also notify you by email or a notice on our website.
